Sail from Falmouth to the Biscay port of Nantes up the river Loire on this cargo route. The voyage starts during the annual Falmouth Classic regatta and Sea Shanty festival, after some fun racing in the Carrick Roads and the crew events that are put on we will load the ship with Cornish ale and sail across the English Channel to Douarnenez and then onto the city centre of Nantes. This voyage includes, loading and offloading cargo, night sailing, sailing in a watch system. Also includes a wine tasting so you can try the organic wines that are produced in the region. Sail the ship like they used to with man power and as little engine as possible. This route covers more sea miles than the normal Johnny Route. Nantes is a beautiful city in central France with good transport links, deserves a good look around and has a noticeably warmer climate. Falmouth

After boarding in the beautiful city centre of Nantes you will be hand loading a cargo hold of Muscadet wine bound for the warehouse in Douarnenez. Nantes is an easy city to get to and has a noticeably warmer climate. The sail between Nantes and Douarnenez travels through a fantastic cruising area from Saint Nazaire to Ile de Sein, with many islands and coves to stop at anchor for a swim and an explore. We also will deliver wine to restaurants in coastal ports on our way. Also includes a wine tasting so you can try the organic wines that we will be off loading. We specialise at taking families on adventures and only offer our Isles of Scilly voyages during the summer holidays. Sailing past Mousehole and Lands End and disappearing towards the horizon can be magical and the islands just out of sight are well worth the sail. The Isles of Scilly are unspoilt, quiet, pristine and relaxing. We anchor and row ashore to visit the islands, explore and return to Grayhound for a wholesome meal or cook on a fire on the beach. Freya cooks fresh, healthy meals onboard using local veg and meat. You will be able to sample Cornish cheese and sail traded organic French wine.
